Who I am

I’ve been working with clay for over 40 years, starting as a child digging it up from under the family carport. A school excursion to Sovereign Hill in Ballarat—where I became completely absorbed watching potters at the wheel—sparked a lifelong passion that’s never left me.

I studied Ceramic Design at Chisholm Institute of Technology (now Monash University) and have worked as a production potter, educator, and ceramic artist across Victoria and Tasmania. From wood-fired brickworks and large-scale garden pots to raku and exhibition work, clay has always been at the centre of my life.

Alongside my studio practice, I spent 20 years teaching art and ceramics before completing a Master of Art Therapy at La Trobe University. I now run a private Art Therapy practice, working within a person-centred framework across individual and group settings, including aged care, dementia, and autism.

Based in Warncoort near Colac, I offer small-group ceramics classes in hand-building and wheel throwing, with a focus on surface decoration and glazing. Classes are kept small (5 people) in a peaceful, garden-based studio.
